Awesome Ameraucana Chickens!

No longer breeding just promoting...
Ameraucanas
Sorry, no chickens or hatching eggs for sale.

I have raised many different breeds of poultry over the last 30 years.
In 2001 I purchased my first APA standard bred Ameraucana
large fowl chickens after doing some online research to discover
the differences between Ameraucanas, Araucanas, Easter Egg Layers (EEL).
As the result of that research I wrote the article "
Ameraucana Myths & Facts"
which you can read by CLICKING HERE.

This article explains the basic differences between the 3 varieties of chickens for which
much confusion and erroneous information seems to persist probably due to many private
breeders and
commercial hatcheries selling EEL as Araucanas and/or Ameraucanas.
Araucanas and Ameraucanas are separate APA recognized breeds.
The most common EEL are not.  EEL are mutts or cross breeds.

Ameraucanas are an ideal breed to raise in northern climates
with their pea comb and lack of wattles.
No more frost bit combs and wattles.
They are hardy, bright and an easy to raise bird.
Thier muffs and beards give them a unique look and of course
they lay varying shades of pastel blue or blue-green eggs and yes,
their eggs taste just like white or brown colored eggs.
